{"id":1,"name":"Lance Chapman","url":"http:\/\/lancechapman.net","description":"From his first exposure to film editing as a teenager making super-8 films, Lance Chapman immediately knew he had found his calling. The creative outlet he had found in arranging shots to tell a story and the power to entertain and affect people, had him staying up nights just to satiate his new-found passion. This focus on editing stayed with him through film school and into his early professional career as an assistant editor on documentaries, television, and feature films for companies including Miramax Films, Fox Searchlight Entertainment, Universal Television, and Arnold Shapiro Productions.\r\n\r\nLance\u2019s step up from assistant editor came when he took on the role of V.P. of Post-Production and Lead Editor at Birthmark Entertainment, Inc., a production and post-production company based in Los Angeles. While at Birthmark, Lance edited projects for clients including Sony Music, Fox Home Entertainment, Sega GameWorks, FIJI Water, eHarmony, and advertising agencies JWT Worldwide, M-80, and Fire Station. In time, Birthmark morphed into a development company, where he stayed on to develop and found ResidentBand.la, an organization dedicated to promoting Los Angeles based independent musicians via digital content. Through ResidentBand.la, Lance edited over 25 music videos and co-hosted 100+ hours of talk radio.\r\n\r\nLance\u2019s virgin voyage as a feature film editor contributed to the independent film The Yankles winning multiple festival awards and garnering distribution through Magnolia Pictures. The independent film Last Call, his latest feature work, premiered at The Sonoma International Film Festival and was picked up for distribution through Vega Baby Releasing.\r\n\r\nStill wanting to feed his craving, Lance continues to work as a freelance editor, bringing his infectious passion for the craft to every project he works on.\r\n\r\nAs a director, Lance is currently in post-production on his debut narrative short drama\/thriller FILM SCHOOL 1991.","link":"https:\/\/filmschool1991.com\/?author=1","slug":"lanceedit","avatar_urls":{"24":"https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/4d7eedb2b4f0dc6d62ceb6abd27f204a1d051eb3f703845472f0f357c09bf0eb?s=24&d=mm&r=g","48":"https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/4d7eedb2b4f0dc6d62ceb6abd27f204a1d051eb3f703845472f0f357c09bf0eb?s=48&d=mm&r=g","96":"https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/4d7eedb2b4f0dc6d62ceb6abd27f204a1d051eb3f703845472f0f357c09bf0eb?s=96&d=mm&r=g"},"meta":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/filmschool1991.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/filmschool1991.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users"}]}}
